Hello! My name is Courtney Rupp and I am from Arlington, Texas. I became a Flight Attendant in May of 2016 and boy has my life changed since. And while all of my dreams of traveling the world are coming true, flying the friendly skies for a living isn’t all glitz and glamour. I could easily lead people to believe that my life is totally glamorous. That heels are not a daily struggle for me, that traveling through so many times zones has absolutely no effect on my physical and mental health, or that I do it all without having to freshen up my make-up. HA. It would just be too exhausting to keep that façade up.
When I first started working as a flight attendant, my goal was to perfect the art of travel, and it took me a good 10 months to realize that my goal was unobtainable. Spoiler alert, there is no perfect way to travel. The fact that it took me 10 months to figure that out is actually embarrassing. The only goal I have now when traveling is to make it from point A to point B in once piece and maybe eat some good food along the way.
A little bit more about myself: I graduated from Dallas Baptist University with a degree in Broadcast Communications. I have an older sister and a younger brother, and two very loving parents. Without the love and support from friends and family, and the desperate need I have for Jesus Christ in my daily life, I would have given up on this job and my dreams of traveling a long time ago.
My goal for this whole shindig is for people to see what traveling the world is really like. I want to share my mistakes; how much time I waste trying to figure out public transportation, what flying stand-by is really like, or how a trip doesn’t turn out how I planned it to be. With all the mistakes that come with my travels, more importantly, I also want to share my rewards. Learning about people that are different than me, finding beauty in busy cities and excitement in small mountain towns. I want to encourage you to travel. Whether it is across the world or in the city in which you have lived your entire life. I guarantee you will find a place you never knew existed or meet someone that teaches you more about yourself and the world outside of your own home. No more excuses. Let’s do this!
